Climate in Krk: best time to visit, weather by month, temperature

Krk is an island with a classic Mediterranean climate, with mild, never too cold winters and warm summers. Its favourable position, sheltered by the mountains of continental Croatia to the east and the island of Cres to the west, means that the climatic conditions are perfect for the development of numerous plant and flower species.

Rainfall is rare, mostly concentrated during the winter months. The fine season runs from the end of May to the beginning of October, and obviously the summer months are when the island is taken by storm by tourists, partly because of the rising temperatures, the virtually guaranteed sunny days and the length of the day.

During the summer ,humidity is also low, making it possible to make the most of outdoor days. The wettest month is January, with an average relative humidity of 60.9%. Similarly, thanks to the protection provided by the surrounding mountains, Krk is not a windy island: suffice it to say that the windiest month is March, when it blows at an average speed of 11 km/h, practically a light breeze.
